2023 REDCON Annual Meeting CFP
Theme: Adaptations
Time & Location: September 20-22, 2023 in Alexandria, VA (Hilton Alexandria Old Town)
As academic change agents in STEM, we are constantly reacting and adapting to the changing higher education ecosystem. We understand that we must be flexible under different conditions and willing to revise components of RED projects in order to start and sustain our work. The 2023 RED Consortium Meeting will take up the theme of adaptations in order to highlight the work of RED teams as they move their projects forward.
RED team members are invited to submit session proposals for interactive panels and workshops to be delivered to their peers at the 2023 Meeting in Alexandria, VA. These sessions might be breakout sessions for specific or self-selecting audiences or sessions for the whole RED consortium. Sessions will last approximately 90 minutes. Each team may submit only one solo proposal, but the number of cross-team proposals is unrestricted. There are no restrictions on how many proposals an individual may participate in.
Topics include but are not limited to:
- Adaptations from A&I perspective,
- Adaptations to sustain the project beyond the life of the grant
- Adaptations to sustain DEI efforts,
- Adaptations as a result of leadership changes,
- Adaptations in response to legislations or state policies (how people are adapting their projects with regards to state-level legislation – DEI etc)
- Adaptations to increase impact on grad students/postdocs, etc
- Adaptations you wish you had made early on – Reflections from your RED journey
- Adaptations to exogenous contextual changes
Session leaders, including panel organizers, should submit (a) an abstract of 300 words or less on their session topic, (b) learning objectives for the session attendees, and (c) a plan for attendee engagement and participation. The most effective and well-received sessions will be interactive, with actionable takeaways for participants.
Submit a proposal using this form. Abstracts will be reviewed by REDPAR, with the final meeting program determined by NSF program officers and the REDPAR team.
Proposal abstracts are due May 31th. Submitters will be notified by June 15th.
Please contact REDPAR with your questions (grp_redpar@rose-hulman.edu).
