2024 REDCON Theme: Connections
As change agents in STEM, we are constantly making connections as we navigate the academic landscape. We understand the value of connections as we work on our RED projects to initiate and sustain change in our institutions and beyond.
The 2024 RED Consortium Meeting will take up the theme of connections in order to highlight the work of RED teams as they move their projects forward.
RED team members are invited to submit session proposals for interactive panels and workshops to be delivered to their peers at the 2024 Meeting in Alexandria, VA. These sessions might be breakout sessions for specific or self-selecting audiences or sessions for the whole RED consortium.
Sessions will last approximately 90 minutes (refer to the program). Each team may submit only one solo proposal, but the number of cross-team proposals is unrestricted. There are no restrictions on how many proposals an individual may participate in.
Topics include but are not limited to:
- Examples of utilizing informal/formal connections, internal/external connections, strategic connections, new and pre-existing connections in your change project
- Challenges with establishing and maintaining connections
- Utilizing social capital and infrastructure to help sustain the change post funding period
- Utilizing connections for diffusion and propagation of innovations
- Utilizing connections to address challenges to inclusive excellence
- Building trust, reciprocity, and other positive relational dynamics with partners / collaborators
Session leaders, including panel organizers, should submit (a) an abstract of 300 words or less on their session topic, (b) learning objectives for the session attendees, and (c) a plan for attendee engagement and participation. The most effective and well-received sessions will be interactive, with actionable takeaways for participants.
Submit a proposal using this form.
Proposal abstracts are due May 31th. Submitters will be notified by June 15th.
Abstracts will be reviewed by REDPAR, with the final meeting program determined by NSF program officers and the REDPAR team. Please contact REDPAR with your questions.
